A solution for the instability problems
is found and the third speed record-breaking boat CENTAURUS
I with hydro-foils is stable. A “clock-face” run with
12 channels and a length of 500m is set up in lake Kisezers,
in Riga. In the first speed race, CENTAURUS I, manned
by Aldis, convincingly beats the windsurfers and reaches
a maximum speed of 27.0 knots. This is higher than the
official world record for A class boats.
